Our Mission

In congruence to the unique and selective eating habits of Ethiopians due to our religious and cultural backgrounds, AFOT has planned to supply the healthy, natural, and organic foods which are becoming highly needed by our society. Though AFOT soon will start with medium size farming at a specific location, we do have the vision to expand our farm size in different parts of America. Besides its plan to provide fresh and healthy food locally and nationwide, in its long-term goal, AFOT has a vision to do the following and other related services for our people:

  • Helping to create a strong attachment of Ethiopian identity in America, or establishing cultural identity practicing centers by creating miniature versions of Ethiopian traditional farmers in America. AFOT is designed to integrate farming with cultural, biological, and technical practices that promote ecological balance;

  • Creating identity for project and community, and creating civic space for Ethiopian community interactions;

  • Enhancing marketing potential for the Ethiopian community;

  • Enhancing potential for entitlements of our community;

  • Providing opportunity for training and education programs;

  • Harvesting food items which are likable and mostly used by Ethiopians;

  • Taking part in open source of healthy and non-GMO seeds distribution for Ethiopian farmers;

  • Have a farm-based educational center/ offering farm-based educational programs;

  • Investing in our own people: Supporting staff and board development as it is critical to our own long-term success…
